Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known cheerleaders when she makes her LPGA debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns several golf courses and regularly plays against his granddaughter.

"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she stated.

She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she explained.

"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments this year and has position 461 in AJGA listings.

Yet she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.

"He stands as the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He advised me to play, relax, following whatever happens."

Kai will face some of most prominent players in professional golf at the Annika, including world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

The LPGA stated that her participation brings the sport to new audiences, especially with the next generation.

The social media influencer has a massive following and just introduced a personal clothing and lifestyle company.

She begins at 17:30 GMT.
