The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
