Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Top Player Accolades.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player ended the season with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive year.

The 27-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Season of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka finished the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She garnered almost 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".
