FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
