Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
